The American Psychological Association has
reiterated that lesbian and gay parents are perfectly capable of raising children. Or rather, sexual orientation has nothing to do with being a good parent.
“On the basis of a remarkably consistent body of research on lesbian and gay parents and their children, the American Psychological Association and other health, professional, and scientific organizations have concluded that there is no scientific evidence that parenting effectiveness is related to parental sexual orientation,” the APA says, which apparently isn’t direct enough.
The “New Family Structures Study,” a study that claims children raised in "gay households" receive poor parenting, was written by a rightwing author and funded by an institute connected to anti-gay organizations. The study showed an unfair bias to heterosexual parents while looking at children raised in gay households, many of which did not include parents in committed, same-sex relationships.
