America’s Next Top Model Live sashays into Toronto

Max MacDonald goes behind the scenes with Isis King

Warm up your wind machine, slip into some hot clothes and crank the runway music! America’s Next Top Model Live lands in Toronto this weekend, May 4, 5 and 6! This much-touted event has been blasted all over social media and has been talked about for months by gay boys and glamazon women, who will besiege the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.  fab managed to snag an interview with Isis King, ANTM contestant from Cycle 11 and All-Stars. She got the world talking as the first transgender woman to appear on the show.

Not only is King a small powerhouse unto herself, she’s surprisingly lovely. I had a brief audience with her and asked if she thought she would turn out to be such a trailblazer. King replied, “No! I wanted to do the show; that was the original intention.” You can see more of my interview with King on the fab magazine YouTube channel here. Is the show worth going to? If you're a fan, follower and slave to the show, heck yes! But be warned -- Tyra will not be attending.
