Imagine sitting at a runway show where the fashion film starts and you are bombarded with a cornucopia of colours, loud dance music and models in various artistically posed stages. Welcome to the Woudenberg show, Wednesday night at FAT, which started with the film Ego, directed by Adam Zivo. When I met this quirky and much ballyhooed designer two weeks prior to her show, she warned me, “Expect a surprise.” She was right; there were only four menswear looks and two were wearable but not groundbreaking. The first was a long coat with leather and fabric sleeves with a cow-print lining. Second was a green and black top over black pants. With all the hype I’ve heard about this female dynamo, I expected more looks and something to truly show off her ego.
