John Waters sticks his thumb up somewhere

The Baltimore Sun reports that queer filmmaker and enfant terrible John Waters is hitchhiking across the United States.
Waters apparently started in his hometown of Baltimore sometime last week. He was picked up close to the border of Ohio and Pennsylvania by the members of Here We Go Magic, who almost passed him by except someone in the band recognized him. They parted with Waters in Indiana. He was later picked up by a couple in Junction City, Kansas, who again, almost passed him by.
According to a Here We Go Magic band member, Waters “just wanted an adventure.”
In case you need any more reason to love John Waters:
“Are you a bottom or a top -- what is it, like some sort of political party?”
