My feelings on gays in the military being mixed, I’m still a big sucker when it comes to reunions and PDAs (only if they’re gay, though). That’s why I think it’s fantastic that the picture of US Marine Brandon Morgan has gone viral and gotten a lot of support. Morgan, replying to the picture’s popularity, said, “We didn’t do this to get famous or something like that; we did this 'cause after three deployments and four years knowing each other, we finally told each other how we felt.”

Reminds me of a picture I saw a while ago of Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta greeting her girlfriend with a kiss on the pier, which was, in a way, the Navy equivalent of Morgan’s picture.
Whether or not you believe in military ideals, there are still queer people serving their countries. I think it’s important they’re able to serve openly and display affection publicly, because if they can't they're still just second-class citizens.
