"We've got Issue 50 of the
Astonishing X-Men in store now, which has the [marriage] proposal. I'll also have lots of copies of 51 on hand for its release date of June 20," says Christopher Butcher, manager of The Beguiling. Issue 51 features the much-anticipated wedding of Northstar to his longtime boyfriend, Kyle Jinadu.

Notable comics that put a spotlight on gay characters are Issue 29 of The Authority, from 2002, in which Apollo and Midnighter get married; Young Avengers' Hulkling and Wiccan; and Archie Comics, which introduced hunky blond Kevin Keller in Issue 202 of Veronica in 2010, then gave him his own four-issue miniseries in 2011. "We have collected editions that feature all of those issues in trade paperbacks," Butcher says. "We've got more gay superhero material, as well, including the gaybashing issue of Green Lantern, the queer/trans parts of Runaways and Patrick Fillion's adults-only superhero series."
