Take a porn break from the internet (just for a few minutes) to check out a new web series called Where the Bears Are. When roommates Nelson (Ben Zook), Wood (Joe Dietl) and Reggie (Rick Copp) find a body in the bathroom after Nelson’s fifth 40th-birthday party, they set out to learn who the murderer is before he can get them, too. It’s a romp through Los Angeles’s Silver Lake neighbourhood, with stops at famed LA gay bars The Eagle, Akbar and Sunset Junction and guest spots by Mario Diaz (as murderous Eagle owner Ramon Santiago), eye-candy Ian Parks as “Hot Toddy” (Nelson’s love interest, who may or may not be the murderer) and Tuc Watkins, of Desperate Housewives fame.

The creators (Zook, Dietl and Copp) bill it as Murder, She Wrote meets Golden Girls: Nelson is wise Dorothy, Wood is ditzy Rose and Reggie is slutty Blanche. No word yet on who solves the crime and becomes the de facto Jessica Fletcher — you’ll just have to tune in to see.
