Long live the queen

'Pittsburgh is the Hollywood of Southwestern Pennsylvania'

06.13.2012

June 12 is now officially Sharon Needles Day in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the recent winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4 was given her own day because of her fearlessness as an artist and her speaking out for bullied queer youth. Needles herself commented, “A win for Sharon Needles is a win for every single kid in this city who's still being bullied.”

In celebration of the event, Needles performed The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s “Sweet Transvestite” in front of city hall, although she changed it to “Cheap Transvestite from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania” and made the lyrics a little more Steel City. In other news, Sharon Needles is the best.

Now the question that begs to be asked: Is there a Phi Phi O’Hara Day?

Didn’t think so.

Superb stand alone "freak of the week" episode that also aavdnces the alt universe storyline little by little I love how visually we see how the Milo breaks down the various probabilities and possible outcomes. This reminded me so much of "Minority Report" by Steven Speilberg and that stunning squence in that film where the Pre-Cog (precognitive) Amanda foresees the immediate future a few seconds before it actually happens and advises Tom Cruise about what to do to elude capture. It is indeed very ineresting to see Olivia struggle with her identity and doubts surfacing. We already see Charlie having doubts and Agent Lincoln Lee will probably begin to have some too soon. We also see that Broyles is having some major doubts about the entire plan. Does he realise that this is not only about defeding their universe but it is also a VERY personal beef for alt Walter Bishop as his son was stolen?
