Last month, American punk rock band Against Me!’s lead came out as transgender to Rolling Stone. She announced she was going to begin going by the name Laura Jane Grace and planned to undergo hormone replacement therapy. Huff Po reports that Grace made her first live performance since the announcement, to positive reception from fans.
On to something of somewhat stifling irrelevance: apparently there was some leaked audio of Madonna performing a "Born This Way"/"Express Yourself"/"She’s Not Me" mashup, rehashing the criticism that Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” is similar to Madge’s “Express Yourself.” I mean, I’m not going to trash-talk MDNA or disagree with the similarities, but wasn’t that . . . like . . . a year ago? When does it stop seeming tongue-in-cheek and start seeming like the old girl’s grasping for relevance?
