My High School Boyfriend Was Gay

That takes me back

The saying goes that behind every successful man there’s a woman, which I don’t take much stock in since a woman doesn't have to be with a man to be successful. However, if that were about a gay guy getting through high school, I would agree!
 
I speak only for myself, of course, but the only thing that got me through four years as a stupid, sexually confused adolescent were three strong young women. We were all weirdos, and we were all wonderful.
 
Gay comedian Damian put together My High School Boyfriend Was Gay as a place where people can share their stories of awkward, high-school-not-quite-romances. It’s rather charming, and celebratory. I feel like there are a lot of gay boys out there who, at some point, had marvelous beards.
