Church St came alive the evening of Thursday, June 28 with Proud FM’s fifth-anniversary party, sponsored by Joe Boxer. The celebration was held at the Vic Pub, with a corner of the patio converted into a mini runway. The runway was filled with dancers, a live DJ and a surprise performance by Kreesha Turner. But it was all about the boys and their bulges. PFlag was honoured, to raucous applause, for their tireless work in the community.
Host and ProudFM sex symbol Mike Chalut worked the microphone while models strutted out wearing Joe Boxers. The line, which will hit stores in September, is all bright colours -- wild graffiti and bold prints replace the slightly dated happy-face motif. The line is so cool that yours truly tried to sneak backstage to snatch a pair. Not a model, dirty minds, just the underwear.
