North Star shines again

Max MacDonald dusts off the vintage brand

05.29.2012

For fab readers who grew up in the '80s, there were three names synonymous with Canadian casual cool: Roots, Beaver Canoe and North Star. As things went in and out of fashion, so did all three names, until only one remained; Roots. Now, almost 20 years later, North Star is being dusted off and modernized. This time around they have learned their lesson and are not relying on their signature navy and yellow shoe to carry the entire brand. They have expanded into clothes, which include sweat tops, hoodies, tanks and T-shirts -- emblazoned with “All Canadian” across the front. The cute concept, as modelled by blogger Blair Butler, gives this forgotten brand a new twist just weeks away from Canada Day. — Max MacDonald

So.... what's this going to cost?
      $100+
When did FAB become Toronto Living and only cater to those in the mid to upper income brackets?

Thank you for your comment Christopher. If you are (and I hope you are) a consistent reader of FAB you will know that I have put things in the magazine which cost $5 to $500,000. We cater to all income brackets. The North Star collection ranges from $$50-$200. I try to keep the pereception that FAB caters to only upwardly moblie gays down to minimum so fear not, we haven't forgotten about you at all.
