“My best friend said, ‘Don’t slut yourself out to the first boy you see,’ but I did.”

Together: Scooter & Alexandre - 2 years

Scooter and Alexandre may be two troublemakers from different cities, but they didn’t let that get in the way of a major crush. “We met on a dancefloor at Stereo in Montreal,” Scooter explains. “I was perving on Alex, and my best friend said, ‘Don’t slut yourself out to the first boy you see,’ but I did.” The first things Alex noticed about Scooter were “his cool body language and his sexy eyes,” whereas Scooter was all about Alex’s “flat-brim hat, high-top sneakers and his French accent. Woof.”

Scooter eventually asked, “Do you want to stop dancing and go over to that corner and make out?” Alex describes what happened next: “It felt like my feet lifted up off the ground. Nothing else mattered. I knew I was falling in love.”

The two started dating and haven’t looked back since. Scooter throws the Queen West party Cub Camp, at The Beaver (the next one is Friday, Oct 14), and loves having his man by his side. “Alex makes the trip down from Montreal every time. I love him for that,” Scooter says.

When it comes to down time, Alexandre and Scooter enjoy being lazy and making out, going to San Francisco, eating burgers, playing video games and downing margaritas.
Alexandre’s favourite thing about Scooter is “the way he holds my wrist, not my hand. This simple gesture explains the humour and the love we have for each other, even in silence.” Scooter is more practical, saying that for both of them it’s all about “our boners.”

Alexandre says they make it work because “I feel safe when he’s near me, because our story is beautiful and because we accept each other as we really are, without compromise.” Scooter says their success is also thanks to “Megabus and Skype.”
